Axis Lubrication Has Changed from Grease to Oil

ATTENTION! To increase system performance and reliability, Haas has converted the machine axis lubrication system from grease to oil. 

Haas Liquid Grease (HLG) cartridges and refills are no longer available. Machines using HLG should be converted to Haas Axis Lubrication Oil, at the earliest convenience.* 

You may convert your machine to oil at any time. The process is simple, and is a good opportunity to verify that the machine’s axis lubrication system is working properly. See the conversion procedure linked below.

Order PN 93-3585: AXIS LUBE CONVERSION KIT HLG TO OIL from your local HFO, or through this website. The kit includes a canister of Haas Axis Lubrication Oil, and a 0.020" orifice for the side-mount tool changer (mill) or C-axis (lathe) lube line, if equipped. The conversion kit also includes a software patch containing updated system parameters, which is automatically associated with the machine serial number when the kit is ordered.

Installation of the software patch is not required to convert the axis lube system to oil. The system will operate correctly, after changing a few settings in the control. However, the patch should be installed by a Haas Service Technician at your next scheduled service visit, to optimize the performance of the axis lubrication system.

*Applies to machines built from April 2014 to August 2022 using Haas Liquid Grease (HLG). Machines built after August 2022 use the Haas Axis Lubrication Oil (HALO) system.

Great Product
This oil is slick as ice, really makes our Haas CNC mill perform faster than a car doing laps around Talladega superspeedway. I'd definitely buy again and probably will since the machine uses it everyday. Online ordering is easier than using the jungle website Amazon.

Oil does what is needed
Converting our Haas mills from grease to oil seemed forced and unneeded at first. But after a year of using the oil product, everything is going fine. It ships quickly and the price seems reasonable.

We received our refill fast and the process online is simple and easy to follow. My only SUGGESTION is that it is not available in larger sizes. I wish we were able to purchase in 5 gallon containers. Overall an excellent product where as a substitute would just not cut it.

Works just as it should. The only thing I would suggest is that Haas should make it better known how easy it is to order so people don't go searching all over for it and just get it from the website. Had it in a couple days after my people spent days trying to find it locally.

HAAS WAY LUBE
The oil is much better than the grease, still trying to clean up the mess left from the grease on some machines. Oil doesn't get hard, glad to be back to oil.

Axis lube refill
With the much appreciated switch from grease to oil for axis lubrication it make great sense to keep a gallon on hand. I researched alternatives and Haas provides a great product and a fantastic price. Keeping this on-hand means no down time when it comes time to refill the reservoir.
